Sharing the CTO's knowledge with young professionals

One of the key characteristics of NetLS is its involvement in the growth of qualified software engineering professionals. In order to develop talented people with a strong theoretical base, we cooperate with the three best universities in Ivano-Frankivsk and, as part of this cooperation, we constantly hold educational lectures and conferences for students and their teachers.

On May 17, 2024, we once again visited the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, the best oil and gas university in Ukraine. The presentation was organized for the 1st-4th year students of the Software Engineering faculty.

It was symbolic that the speaker, Yaroslav Ersteniuk, is a graduate of the same university and major as his audience. Yaroslav started his career as a Junior developer in 2018 and is holding the position of CTO at NetLS Software Development. He is an expert in working with many programming languages, technologies, operating systems, databases, and development environments.

Yaroslav's main desire was to share his experience and the experience of his colleagues with the students and warn them against common mistakes made by younger developers. He talked about the importance of continuous learning, attending various tournaments and competitions to develop your own logic. He explained why English is necessary in programming and gave recommendations for development. The specialist allocated some time to answer all the questions. The students were interested in the specifics of the TDD approach and the advantages of monolithic architecture over microservice architecture, and questions such as “What is the best time to ask for help?”.

Concluding the speech, Olga Yatsiuk, HR Generalist, highlighted the main qualities that prevail when choosing new employees. She explained why communication skills sometimes prevail over technical orientation and partially prepared students for interviews in the future.

As part of our cooperation with higher education institutions, their best students have the opportunity to complete a free three-month internship at our company. Under professional mentoring, interns have the opportunity to get to know their profession better and apply their knowledge and skills in the future.
