Last week, we once again had the wonderful opportunity to become part of the educational space of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) and share our knowledge with students of the "Software Engineering" specialty.
Our team, consisting of Constantine Ketskalo, Middle Full-Stack .NET Developer, and Olga Yatsiuk, HR Generalist, held a lecture on the topic "The Dark Side of Code: Anti-Patterns and How to Overcome Them". Constantine shared his practical experience, revealing the secrets of clean code writing and helping students to avoid common mistakes, especially important in the context of the "Discrete Structures" course. Olga focused on the "entry point" — she talked about career-starting opportunities and the free internship program held annually at NetLS, which provides talented students an opportunity to take their first steps in the profession.
A valuable contribution to the lecture was made by Oleh Kavetskyi, a fourth-grade student, who shared his own internship experience at NetLS. His story about how he joined the free internship program, the atmosphere in the company, and the mentoring methods became an inspiring example for other students.
We were impressed by the students' activity and their eagerness to gain knowledge. The discussion that unfolded after the lecture wasn’t only active but also extremely constructive.
"We are always happy to share our experience with students because they are the future of the IT-industry. Every meeting like this is not only an opportunity to transfer knowledge but also a chance to inspire young professionals for new achievements," – said Constantine Ketskalo.
We are grateful to IFNTUOG for the invitation and the opportunity to interact with talented youth. Thank you to all participants for your activity and interesting questions! See you again soon!
